Short Trip Great Prices
Published in Untagged by davidstevensWe sailed early monday morning and headed south by 30miles, the fishing wasn't to bad with a good run of megs and monk but not a lot of bulk to go with it. The weather was still poor when we shot, with the wind still coming from the north, but it soon eased and we had a lovelly fine night for a change on monday evening.
The next day we headed west and we found the fishing better, but then we had a southerly gale for an hour or two so we had to shoot the single net for a watch so we were able to tow into the weather. Then on wednesday evening it turned poor again from the nw this time so we towed in a bit closer, but the fishing wasn't so good inside, so we knocked it on the head on thursday morning and we came into land so we could catch a good market.
With the weather being so poor the markets have had very little fish coming ashore so the buyers were glad of a bit of fish on Fridays market and the prices were excellent for the bit of fish we had.
The wind eased on thursday afternoon so we sailed again and headed back outside, the outlook isn't very good for monday so we may very well be blown in again, this pattern of weather has to end soon surely!
