Quick turn-around to catch the last market

Published in Untagged  by davidstevens

We started our trip on Monday morning, it was quite a poor day and we had to steam to the west (into the weather) which didn't help. Even though it was poor we didn't fish too badly, we had a nice few Haddocks, some flats and some nice Dorys. Tuesday wasn't much better, it was still SW 6-7 but we managed to push on through.

Wednesday the weather fined away and we had a good coupleof days fishing, so we headed in Thursday evening to catch the last market before the bank holiday weekend, in the hope that the prices would be good. It was low water in Newlyn and we just managed to scrape in, as we didn't want to miss the lorry. We had a top up of fuel, some extra grub and after an hour scraped back out of the harbour to head back to the grounds.
