Long Days and Slack Fishing

Published in Untagged  by davidstevens

June is here and the fishing is slack. This usually happens in the month of June for a couple of weeks, then the summer fishing starts and all is ok again

This year is more difficult as the price of small Haddocks is way down so we are trying to avoid catching them and chase more valuable fish like flats, Monk and Dory. We could go to the grounds where we know there will be plenty ofHaddock, but its just not worth it when the prices are so low, so we are saving our quota for when the larger run of summer Haddocks come on the ground.

It sure has been a good spell of weather just recently and I have no complaints about that - long may it continue! With it approaching mid-summer the nights really are short and on the clearest of nights we are actually only seeing 1-2hrs of proper darkness.
