Indian Summer At An End

The boat is due in this afternoon after a 6 day trip to the southwest, the fishing has benn godd and Al and the crew have over 300boxes onboard. It is a good mix of fish with half being made up of a good run of haddocks and the rest is a mix of Megs, monk, dory, whittens, squid, lemons, with a few cuttle's starting to show.
The forecast is not looking to good for thenext couple of days, so we are going to get a few jobs done that need doing after we have landed tonight. First we have our rope bridles to measure, as we fitted two new one a couple of weeks ago and we think that they may have stretched a bit. We also have to splice the warps as they have been on for 5 mounths now and the hard eye tube thimbles are starting to break up, so we must put new one's in and the only way to do this, is resplices the new one's in.
Then after a night's kip we have an oil change to do on the main engine, we have to do this roughly every mounth depending on how many engine hours we have used and it is vital for the life of the engine.
The catch will be on Plymouth market as usual tomorrow and with a poor week forecast we are hoping that the prices will be good as the weather is unfortunatly on the turn and the outlook is Autumnimal.
