Published in Untagged by davidstevensThe Tranquility has headed back upto Scotland this week to work out of their home port of Fraserbrough, to fish for Prawns. The Prawn fishing has improved over the last couple of weeks up in the North Sea and with the Haddock prices being down, Peter, Brian and the crew thought it best to head back that way.
It has been good for us to have someone to work alongside in the last 3 months, wedon't normally have anyone as most of the other trawlers down this way are smaller boats which can't get out for much of the year. Its always good to have another boat alongside to compare with and to make sure you're both fishing to the best of your abilities and also if something goes wrong you can help each other out.
The Pair team (Defiant and Ocean Star) are also away, fishing up Lundy on the Squid, they are also waiting to see if the Haddock prices pick up and are saving their quota by fishing the Squid.
We have been working the West-Southwest grounds and the bay over the last couple of days. The fishing has been ok with a nice bit of flat, some lovely big Brills and Turbots amongst it, some Monk and nice Dorys, the Haddocks are still on the ground and have been a good run again.
