Black back Down

The Fish was sold today at PTA, the prices are starting to pick up a bit now, which is a relief as it proves that demand is picking up a bit as the year goes on. We have been in today, we had an oil change to do and we have put our new trawl doors back aboard after they have been in for a week for some welding work on the shoes to be done, we also took ice and grub and we are ready tosail tomorrow evening after the wind eases hopefully.

We had a quite eventful trip last week one thing that stuck in our minds was the comical but tragic dogfight between two gulls. A young herring gull picked up a small gurnard and set off to enjoy his meal, but unfortunatly a large black back gull wanted his meal for himself, so a dog fight ensued between the two gulls with much swooping and turning, the young herring gull lost his lunch to the bullying black back. But this was not the end of the story, as when the black back picked up the gurnard and gloatingly flew off with it, he forgot to look where he was going and flew straight into our mast and he ended up flat out unconcious, spread eagled on our fore deck, with the gurnard still in his beak. I was quite shocked to witness all this comotion but I have to admit it was quite ironic really.
