Back in the thick of it.
Published in Untagged by davidstevensWe got off to a good start with some very good fishing for the first trip back, which we were all very glad to see, but it came as a bit of a shock to the system after being laid up for so long. The fishing was so heavy that I ended up with blisters on my fingers from the amount of gutting, I'm not complaining though, but I have told my wife that if we are in for so long again I will haveto cut back on the washing up as it softened my hands to much.
We landed our catch on thursday's market and considering the volumes of fish, I am glad to say the prices held up. Alec has the boat away this trip and he has headed off to the southwest and the fishing is not quite so heavy but he is catching a nice few megs and monk, so it looks like our new nets are performing quite well with a big jump in the amount of megs and monk we are taking. We are also seeing a 10-15 % drop in the fuel consumption whilst we are towing as well, so the fitting of the new nozzel and prop was well worth the effort.
