Busy month 1

Hi its been busy month for the Crysta sea and her crew, we were asked to do some survey work earlier in the month for Aberdeen university, the work was to be carried out on jones bank which is 80miles west of the scillies, so we arrived early in the morning on our first day and started the survey work, little did we know how eventful this job would become.

We have been working closer to shore from 6-12miles off land as this time of year the fishing is better inside the squid has turned up at the wolf and on the right state of tide the fishing has been quite good.  Also the price has remained strong so this is a big help, Alec has been away on another vessel the Alison Kay which has come down from scotland to do a research trip to see how

At last

This is the first trip to be put on the website,sorry its taken so long we have been real busy what with the boat  up the slip then Alec and Beckys wedding june was a busy mounth. We got back to sea on the 15th june it is always a shake down trip after a 2 week refit and it wasn't uneventful to say the least. The begining

Hi all have been away for 19days and Gaby has got the site up and running which is great. I have done 3back to back trips the fishing has been mostly good and can't complain about the prices nor the weather for a change, its pretty tough at the moment the price of fuel has risen 55% in the last 6mounths alone and many fishing boats are having to tie up as they are unable to make it pay. End of another trip

The end of my trip off Alec is due in tonight, he has a good trip nboard 175
boxes of mixed fish 20 of them john dory. We land the catch take fuel ice
grub and we are ready to sail again within 2 hours, we have to make the most of the fine weather and get back to sea its been a hard winter plenty of stormy weather.
